We are seeking a Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care to join our multi-disciplinary team of over 50 veterinary surgeons, to develop and establish a dedicated ECC service. Candidates should either hold or be eligible for a European or American Diploma (or equivalent) and share our aim of providing the best possible levels of care for clients, their pets and for referring veterinary surgeons.
We have an excellent team of highly skilled nursing and support staff who give our clinicians the opportunity to concentrate on their clinical caseload and to work in a pleasant and supportive environment. Our hospital facilities are extremely impressive and include six operating theatres, a superbly equipped intensive care unit and wards to accommodate over 150 hospitalised patients. In-patient care is a priority and includes 24 hour veterinary and nursing attention from dedicated nurses and interns. Our GE imaging equipment, including 1.5T MRI, 16 slice CT and high-end ultrasound, is run by our team of on-site board certified imaging Specialists, providing unsurpassed diagnostic imaging support to all our clinicians.
It is expected that you would work closely with the Clinical Director, our team of anaesthesia Specialists, our intern team, and our dedicated ICU nurses to develop the new ECC service. You would have substantial input into how the service is set up and run. As a truly multi-disciplinary centre, you would also be expected to work with other colleagues in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, imaging, cardiology, dermatology and anaesthesia. Our philosophy is very much one of friendly collaboration between clinicians in every specialism. Clinical research is actively supported and encouraged.
The position will be very well remunerated and the package includes six weeks’ holiday, two weeks’ allowance for generously funded CPD, one week’s allowance for involvement in professional committees, a company pension plan, membership of a staff benefits scheme, and private healthcare. Generous assistance with relocation costs is also available.
